The Governor General’s Trophy is presented by the Canadian Branch of the Royal Caledonia Curling Club (“The Branch”) in collaboration with the Governor General’s Curling Club. The Ladies Curling Association of “The Branch” sponsors the Lady Tweedsmuir trophy. The final competition for both events are played at the same time and features double rink play and consist of ten ends.

Standing for the men and contending for the Governor General’s trophy were the Rideau Curling Club (Ontario) and Ormstown (Quebec). For the Lady Tweedsmuir trophy, the women competitors stood for the Rideau Curling Club (Ontario) and Whitlock Curling Club (Quebec). The Rideau Curling Club emerged victorious in both the women's and men's categories.

The Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club hosted the teams and guests on February 15, 2025. The curling games were followed by dinner and an award presentation attended by His Excellency Whit Fraser and 70 curlers and guests. François Vary welcomed the curlers and guests, while Dave Stanley served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. His Excellency Whit Fraser offered a heartfelt toast to the King and Country, emphasizing the significance of our flag and our nation. Bill Woods provided a brief history of the Governor General’s Curling Club, and François Vary concluded the evening's events.

With few exceptions, the Governor General’s trophy has been contested for 150 years, and the Lady Tweedsmuir trophy for nearly 90 years. Our intention remains to continue honouring this longstanding tradition by hosting the double rink joint event featuring teams from Quebec and Ontario.

Congratulations to Teams Blad, Goold, Garner and Thorne on their win!
